Director of Growth
I joined Selective Personnel in 2023, bringing over 20 years of experience in the Hospitality and Recruitment industries. Throughout my career, I've held nearly every position in hospitality, from Kitchen Porter to General Manager, and transitioned into Hospitality Recruitment 12 years ago.
As the Director of Growth at Selective Personnel, I am dedicated to expanding our business. My role involves establishing new client relationships, refining processes, and strategically planning for our expansion into new geographies to support our continued growth.

Briony Melrose
Office Manager
I joined Selective Personnel in 2018 as a staff member, working in a range of hospitality roles then joined the head office team in 2021.I have learned a lot and gained a lot of experience within the hospitality industry throughout my time at Selective and now work as the Recruitment Office Manager.
As Office/Payroll manager I am responsible for organising check-in support for all of our events and helping with the day to day running of the office team. I also ensure payroll is sent in a timely manner each week.

Lauryn Bowie
Recruitment Consultant
I joined Selective Personnel in 2022. I began working various shifts across venues in Glasgow and Edinburgh while studying International Business Management at University in Edinburgh, gaining a better understanding of how each venue operated and getting to know their teams. Starting with kiosk shifts, I gradually transitioned into more advanced roles as I was picking up new skills along the way which led me to box hosting and supervising. After graduating from university, I began working as a Recruitment Consultant in the Glasgow office.
As a Recruitment Consultant, I am responsible for fostering and maintaining relationships with both clients and staff members. I manage client requests from start to finish, ensuring a successful execution of events. You will often find me on-site at our clients' venues throughout Edinburgh!

Katie Hilditch
Onboarding Executive
I joined the Selective Personnel team in March 2024, but I have worked shifts for the agency throughout university. I have over 10 years of experience in the hospitality industry and now I am on the organisational side of it.
As the Onboarding Executive at Selective Personnel, I oversee recruiting new employees to join the company. My role involves managing the online applications, gathering their necessary compliance, inviting successful candidates to the training sessions and uploading the new staff to our staffing platform Ubeya.

Recruitment Consultant
I started with Selective Personnel in October 2023, and I was an absolute fish out of water having worked solely in hospitality for the last 10+ years. Throughout my career I had done it all; managing bars, cafes, creating cocktail menus, running wedding events and working with some cool brands taking part in cocktail competitions. So, I feel like I have a really good idea of the kind of people we're looking for when doing our induction days.
Working as a Recruitment Consultant I'm passionate about our staff and making sure they'll be a good fit not only for the role but with the client as well. My position includes going to check - ins, booking staff, hosting inductions days & developing client relationships. No two days are ever the same!

Onboarding Administrator
n June 2023 I joined Selective Personnel on a permanent basis having previously spent some time as a temporary contractor working in roles such as a kiosk worker and catering assistant. Fresh out of high school, I took up the position of Admin Assistant. As part of my role, I am responsible for the on-boarding of new starters to the business.

In 2021, I joined Selective Personnel as a Hospitality Assistant, funding my way through university. The following year, Allan Edgar, the Managing Director, approached me to join the head office team— I jumped at the opportunity!
With over eight years of experience in the hospitality industry, I have worked in various roles including hostess, mixologist, and suite manager. This extensive background has provided me with a deep understanding of our clients' expectations from our staff.
As the Learning, Development, and Talent Acquisition Consultant, I am dedicated to attracting, training, and developing the skills of our hospitality staff members. Additionally, I contribute to enhancing our internal training and processes, ensuring we continue to meet and exceed industry standards.

Payroll Assistant
I joined Selective Personnel in February 2024 and have worked in the hospitality industry for over 9 years including working front of house for Selective Personnel. After gaining my master's in accounting, Finance and Regulation I have worked as an accountant for hospitality, construction and consulting clients for 4 years and passed my ACCA professional exams
As a Payroll Assistant, my role involves answering payroll queries, sending weekly payroll reports, calculating holiday pay entitlement and preparing invoices for client payments.
